Once you begin your work as an automotive technician, you may be amazed at the power your message on preventive maintenance will have on your customers. Especially when it comes to keeping more money in your customer’s wallets. It can be a great way to build customer trust and put you on the path of being a respected technician.

But, to be the best in your career, you need to have a grasp of the service you are performing and be educated on technology trends.

The first step in the process of addressing oil change habits is to read the vehicle owner’s manual to find out how many miles the manufacturer recommends between oil changes. Second, learn about normal and severe driving conditions as described in the owner’s manual to see if extended oil change intervals can be justified.
